Real Black Wild West Heroes

I want Bass Reeves, Stagecoach Mary and the Black Seminole Scouts to have their day in the sun. I am so tired of having our noses shoved in somewhere that leads to nothing. What exactly is a Django anyway? We have fine Black actors and actresses, we have talented Black writers and directors as well as Black folks capable of manning production crews and we have perfectly fine Black stories wanting to be told. Stories about real people -  brave, smart,  talented, creative people. That did their utmost under the most adverse of circumstances and while they may get some recognition they don't receive nearly the attention they deserve. Thus, our rich legacy goes unacknowledged as our young people go into self-destruct mode for lack of role models.
