NEGRO É LINDO

I was scanning a web site called Our Legaci and I came across an article entitled                       Black Women Start Online Boycott Against Colorism In The Black Community  which mentioned a video featuring negative comments that Black celebrities have stated about Black women.      

You can read that article by following the link above. I was inspired to do a "Black is Beautiful" search which finally translated to a "Negro É Lindo" image search and this is what I found. Interpret it anyway you want to, the results speak
for themselves.

Please don't let those clowns in Hollywood and Madison Ave. continue to define beauty or anything else because they do have an agenda and our best interest is not on it.

Dedication to Pastor Corey Brooks - Walk On Brother Corey Brooks

 When I was coming up, this song was a common inspiration to many of us when we felt as if things were getting to be just too much. Even though I'm dedicating it to Pastor Brooks,  don't hesitate to recognize that it can be an important reminder to all of us that we're in this thing together and that there is a higher power that we can summon to our aid, especially if we do it together.  It's been too long that too many of us have allowed ourselves to be bullied and marginalized and cowed into believing that we are not able to step out and take charge of our destiny. Pastor Brooks Walk Across America serves as a reminder to us all, that our young people are in need of all the help we can give them  - right now. It is paramount that we do all we can, to set things right with them and put them on a path to a healthier, secure and more robust social and economic situation, for the sake of out future generations.

Pastor Corey Brooks - In Search of America's Soul

In an effort to bring about the awareness of the violence that is taking the lives of so many young Black men and boys in America, Pastor Corey has undertaken a Walk Across America    

In Pastor Brooks' words,
"If you think I'm walking across America to bring attention to myself you out your... mind. Do I have a witness in here," said New Beginning Church Pastor Corey Brooks.
"I want to walk across America because too many black boys are dying at the hands of other black boys and ain't nobody saying nothing and somebody's got to face the challenge."

 I'm anxious to see just where the soul of America is myself. I personally feel that pastor Brooks "Walk Across America" would be more effective with better publicity unfortunately I'm not a publicist and quite possibly Pastor Brooks isn't either. On the other hand I don't believe Karen Klein (the bullied granny bus monitor) is a publicist, yet I see on youtube a video titled - Bullied bus monitor receives $633 Grand in online donations in less than a week. While I don't feel that the poor woman should have been treated in such a manor, I also don't think she should have been employed as a bus monitor in the first place. She is in affect, receiving all that dough because she wasn't qualified for the job she was hired to do, go figure. Then there's the case of George Zimmerman who stalked Trayvon Martin to death then promptly went and raised $200,000 dollars online in less than a month to defend his act. I don't believe Zimmerman is a publicist either, so perhaps I'm off the mark about the publcist thing. What then, is it going to take to get some resources and attention on the plight of young Black boys and men in America?
Answers anyone?

 In the meantime Pastor Brooks has put forth an effort and everyone who is concerned about the soul of America, IMO should be doing all they can to support him in his effort. There has never been, nor would there ever have been,  an America or a soul of America, without young Black men. Consider this fact very caerfully America.

DON'T LET COREY BROOKS WALK ALONE

Pastor Corey Brooks Is Walking Across America to raise awareness of the extreme state of violence and death in Black Chicago and other parts of the US and to raise money to help combat this situation. Isn't there something we, as Black Bloggers can do to help support this brother in his effort on OUR behalf? I'm checking  out his videos on youtube and the lack of interest is truly telling. It's obvious the we have not been carrying the ball very well.

The research may not be easy but why can't we try to have the good pastor have supporters meeting him and cheering him on as he passes through the country side or sending him emails of support or better yet money to help him in his endevours. We all know that Chicago is dire need of men like this more than ever.

 Please people let's go out of the way to create some buzz around this man's efforts or maybe just get out of the game because if we're not able to do this then maybe we're just kidding ourselves about the blogging thing.

 Now let's DON'T LET COREY BROOKS WALK ALONE
