Finally some sign of life at the Occupy the Hood Official Website.
After 6 or 7 months of inactivity the OTH web site is finally active again. I'm so glad. I hope you folks will be able to keep someone at the helm of your site this time. I and I'm sure many others are looking to you for inspiration and information. Props for getting it back up. Here's a song in your honor.

Is the US war on drugs racist?
"as the war on drugs rages in US inner cities, the issue has not come up on the campaign trail of either Obama or his Republican presidential opponent, Mitt Romney."

Drug Sentencing Disparities
"About 14 million Whites and 2.6 million African Americans report using an illicit drug
5 times as many Whites are using drugs as African Americans, yet African Americans are sent to prison for drug offenses at 10 times the rate of Whites
African Americans represent 12% of the total population of drug users, but 38% of those arrested for drug offenses, and 59% of those in state prison for a drug offense.
African Americans serve virtually as much time in prison for a drug offense (58.7 months) as whites do for a violent offense (61.7 months). (Sentencing Project)"

AFRICA BEFORE SLAVERY! DR.CLARKE
Some more ourstory lessons by the master.
Dr Clarke is always very easy to listen to. We have to make sure that our young people get a good exposure to his knowledge when they're ready to learn about our history.
There are more parts to this lesson but I'm not going to do all the work. If you want to see more look it up yourself :)
