Juneteenth

"June 19th marks the nation’s only nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It is marked in Black communities across the nation, but has not gained recognition as a national holiday. June 19th is the day that those enslaved in Texas found out about the Emancipation Proclamation, two and a half years after it was issued!"
