This 2-hour special features stories about slave catchers and
slave resistance, from the colonial era through the Civil War
and its aftermath. Slavery was built on a brutal system of
slave policing--enforced by armed community patrols,
paid slave catchers, and federal law. And most of us think that
slave catchers were always successful. But the bounty hunters'
bloodhounds occasionally lost against the intelligence and
courage of the enslaved.
I don't know if the complete program is on youtube but you
can check it out while it is there. Here I've embedded 3
